OVERVIEW
I was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, where I obtained my first university degree in Computer Information Systems, and I arrived in Buffalo, NY, in July 2000.
In January 2016, I decided to continue my education at the University at Buffalo in the Doctoral Program of the Graduate School of Education, with a Curriculum, Instruction, and Science of Learning, Ph.D. major in the Department of Learning and Instruction.
In October 2016, I founded and created a non-profit organization, Victor and Francisca Perez Foundation, Inc., to honor my deceased parents. I firmly believe that communities can improve from the social and academic education perspective. Therefore, I have been developing programs in STEM to engage youth in the communities and help them develop their interests in science and technology.
In August 2010, I graduated with my Master of Science in Career and Technical Education at Buffalo State College, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude. In May 2009, I graduated from Buffalo State College, Magna Cum Laude, with a dual degree consisting of a Bachelor of Science in Career Technical Education and a Bachelor of Art in Spanish Literature. In addition, I received a Certificate of Academic Excellence.
I graduated from Erie Community College to update my knowledge in May 2007with an Associate in Science, General Studies.
In January 2001, I registered for English as second language classes at the University at Buffalo at the New York State English Language Institute. I took classes on "American English Pronunciation," "Advanced Communication for International Professionals," and "Intensive Pre-Academic Orientation in English for International Students."
I worked as a Spanish and computer teacher in middle schools, high schools, colleges, and universities. Also, I had the opportunity to work for Buffalo State College, University at Buffalo, Tapestry Charter School, Niagara County Community College, Canisius High School, Buffalo Public Schools, and Erie 2 Chautauqua - Cattaraugus BOCES.
I taught Latin dance, played soccer, exercised, and spent time with my family in my spare time.
